I do not know 's/activision's refund/pre order cancellation policy that well. people hate on EA with good reason, but they have one of the best refund policies in the business IMO. you actually could have pre ordered 2042, played 12 hours on launch day, realized it was poo, and still gotten a refund. so pre ordering battlefield 2042 would only have been a bad thing if you didn't cancel or refund your pre order when we all realized it was bad when the beta launched. origin also has a refund policy where you can refund the game 24 hours after you launch it regardless of play time which, imo, is actually better than steam's refund policy. Origin also has a 'cancel anytime before release' pre order policy.
